Second Harvest

Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue organization. With a goal to drastically reduce waste while ensuring people have access to the healthy food they need for success, Second Harvest works to capture surplus food before it ends up in the landfill, negatively impacting our environment. Second Harvest rescues food from over 470 donors and delivers it to 253 social service agencies in Toronto, providing enough food for 30,000 meals a day. Our vision: No Waste. No Hunger. Fondation ITHQ

The Foundation is a non-profit organization and its mission is to provide financial support for ITHQ students as well as to support ITHQ’s educational and research activities. Its mandate consists in securing funds for projects that enable the ITHQ to train top-notch, leading-edge professionals for the Quebec tourism, hotel, and food service industry. Read more...

 

St Hubert Foundation

In January 2012, St-Hubert created its own foundation. Although the Léger family has always been present and active in philanthropy, the St-Hubert Foundation has helped to better structure its philanthropic management and develop close relationships with communities throughout Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick. Since its inception, more than 5.2 million dollars have been given back to the community. In 2017 alone, the St-Hubert Foundation made donations to 251 organizations. Canadian Red Cross

Here in Canada and overseas, the Red Cross stands ready to help people before, during and after a disaster. As a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement – which is made up of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Committee of the Red Cross and 190 national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies – the Canadian Red Cross is dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity in Canada and throughout the world. Established in the early part of 1998, The Cora Foundation’s mission is to aid children in need. The Foundation supports and works in collaboration with non-profit organizations trying to improve the quality of life of Canadian children. The Foundation is financed through the profits generated by fundraising events as well as through special events created by employees and the owners of the more than 130 franchised restaurants across Canada. Canada's National Ballet School

Established in 1959, Canada’s National Ballet School is a world leader in the training of professional dancers and teachers. NBS alumni can be found as dancers, teachers, choreographers and artistic directors in over 80 dance companies and schools around the globe. NBS is at the forefront of professional ballet schools in delivering a wide and diverse range of community programs that improve health and quality of life for people of all ages and abilities. Friends of We Care

We are a Christian, non-denominational, faith-based street mission in downtown Toronto, serving the poor and needy of our city. Our various ministries offer support and provisions for the homeless, low-income families, and children and youth. The Scott Mission is a Christian ministry of mercy and love. We aim to meet the needs of people with love and compassion and seek to bring spiritual, physical, and emotional wholeness to their lives.

Mano a Mano

Shining Through Centre - Awareness thru St Louis bar & Grill
Shining Through was founded in 1999 by five families who had children with autism and no acceptable options for their education in their community. These families, bonded together by a common problem, set out to create an autism therapy centre based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), where their children could get quality therapy specifically tailored to their needs. They were able to acquire a beautiful 19th century mansion house, and with the help of friends and community members renovate the interior and create a new therapeutic learning centre. By January, 2001, the Woodbridge campus of Shining Through was born.

Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Canada

In 2021, 15 % of Canadians reported living in a food-insecure household according Statistics Canada. Around the world, 800 million people do not have enough food to lead a healthy, active life. The Stop Hunger Foundation focuses on community investments which support charitable groups that reflect and share our mission: organizations that build sustainable food systems in Canada, fight hunger our communities or that support the empowerment of women in need. 

Thanks to the contribution of our founding partner Sodexo, each very dollar donated to the Stop Hunger Foundation is invested in communities in Canada.

Durham Outlook for the Needy is a non-profit organization started in July 1990 by a group of dedicated Oshawa residents, striving to help those in need in the Durham Region. They chose the patronage and example of St. Vincent Pallotti (1795 to 1850) who dedicated his life to helping the poor and under privileged. With the help of over 900 volunteers each month from churches, numerous organizations and individuals, Durham Outlook for the Needy can provide nutritious daily meals in a dignified manner restaurant style.
